Wake up!

I had this awesome idea for an invention on my way into work this morning (not true, I wrote this a few weeks back on a forum I like to visit). I want an alarm clock that when you go to bed you don't set what time you want to get up, but you tell it what time you have to be to work and how much time you need to get ready.

Example: Work: 8:00am Time Needed: 30min.

Ok, now for the fun part. This is how I imagine the alarm working. While you lay there sleeping soundly the alarm clock would be collecting a constant stream of data (either through wifi or radio signal) about local traffic commute times. This data would then be used by the alarm clock to calculate the amount of time needed to travel from your home to your place of work. Using this information the alarm would then wake you up at a time that would take into account the amount of time needed to get ready, the time you need to be at work and the most up to date commute information. Therefore saving you from ever being late to work due to unexpected weather or a massive traffic jam.

What do you think?
